Critics of behavioural science point out the difficulty of focussing on a single ‘bucket’ of knowledge. Human behaviour is complex, involving body and brain interactions on multiple levels, including gene-environ interactions (context), developmental psychology, evolutionary psychology, neuroendocrinology, neuroanatomy, evolutionary biology and psychology, behavioural neurology, all contributing to an ecosystem of behavioural outcome.

Dr Sugarman produces workshops that have been highly regarded for years by such groups as Pearson Publishing, evolving into products at Transhuman Inc, BoxPlay and clients such as Accenture, Team EXOS, and online programs such as CDE endocrinology, FiiTR.me, award winning Be A Looper and others.

Over the years, as a clinical lecturer in Psychiatry at Adelaide University and University of New South Wales, as well as in clinical psychology at the University of San Francisco, University of Johannesburg and the University of Witwatersrand, South Australia Psychiatry Training Committee and Curriculum Committee, students have found his contributions in applying the above disciplines to understanding human behaviour, of value.

“After attending his first lecture, one of our students noted that Dr Roy is the David Attenborough of clinical psychology” - Hanan Dover, owner and principal psychologist at PsychCentral Australia.

After attending these sessions, health professionals will have found the complexities of brain-body interactions made simple for them and have a greater understanding of how we best help humans deal with daily life, mental illness, pain and other phenomena.

“Dr Sugarman is a wonderful combination of practical operations efficiency with a brilliant clinical mind” - Dr David Whitehouse, CMO Strategy and Innovation, United Health Group
